Hannu Lepisto: Great Artist To Look Out For!

Hannu Lepisto

Helsinki, Finland

Label: Homeward Records Oy

Current Sound: Rock / Alternative / Folk

By: Ava-Mimose

In March of 2011 Hannu Lepisto released “Run Away With Me” -EP. The 5 track EP is by far an amazing album. Lepisto really showcased what it means to really come undone with this album. Having gone through a painful divorce, battling a heavy addiction and then almost succumbing to the almighty himself but before it could get any worst he was quickly surround and rescued by close friends and family from a further downward spiral. As soon as he could, Hannu went back into the studio this time trying his hand as solo artist. From those studio sessions Hannu and his awesome team of Petteri Mård,   Michael Blair, Ulf Rockis Ivarsson and Markku Lepisto finished and released “Run Away With Me”.

The EP has been well received and has garnered many awards and recognitions. Hannu Lepisto is now currently ranked #1 for Helsinki, Finland Reverbnation music page. Hannu has a voice that commands with the likes of Lou Reed, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave and Jyrki Linnenkivi (The 69 Eyes). You might also notice from the title track “Run Away With Me” there is also some Hip-Hop influences as well. Over all this EP is a success.

1. Run Away With Me

Later in 2011 Hannu was commissioned to do a soundtrack for a DVD that is to accompany a book called "Maailman Valloittajat"(Veikka Gustafsson, Thomas Johanson and Timothy Kopra) "Conquers of the World" in english by Olli Pirhonen. The song is of the same name "Conquers of the World". The book is about three men who all are or come from a Finnish background and have three different chosen fields. Countess By My Side - We Need Full-Length Album, NOW!

Countess By My Side

Perth, Western Australia

Label: Unsigned

Current Sound: Melodic Progressive Death Metal

By Ava-Mimose

If you like Children Of Bodom, Between The Buried And Me & Cannibal Corpse . . . then you’ll love Countess By My Side.

Countess By My Side was made official in 2011 by five high school students that all shared an interest in music. Working hard to showcase and perfect their song writing skills as well as trying out new playing techniques in order to sound as original as they possibly can, earlier this year, CBMS recorded their debut EP "Esoteric" which was released in March 2012. This 4 track EP does not disappoint! And it only leaves you wondering what they’re going to have in store for us with a possible upcoming full-length album.

George Hadnett - Vocals/(Rhythm guitar live)
Stephen Barrett - Guitar
Matt Unkovich - Drums
Michael Fitzpatrick - Keys
Joshua Cusack - Bass

I must say I am amazed by the sound of this band. When you check them out on their Facebook page you would not think it would be them delivering such a powerful sound and the thundering vocals from George Hadnett. It would be absolutely amazing to see Countes By My Side share the bill with the like of Born Of Osiris, Children Of Bodom, Between The Buried And Me, Oceano & Cannibal Corpse. And with the awesome response and attention they’ve been getting from their fans current and new since the release of "Esoteric”, I can say that they will soon have their chance to tour the entire globe for the following months and years to come and bring to us, the best death metal they have to offer.

Sweet Suicide - A Soundworthy Mention!

Sweet Suicide
Baltimore, MD
Label: Independent
Current Sound: Rock / Metal

By: Ava-Mimose

December – Band/Track Review

Sweet Suicide is a heavy melodic 5 piece band made up of members formally of Dying Design (Cindy Parr & Greg Lane) and Heschent (Moses Wells & Jesse Jenkins).

Their new single "December" Is now available for download on their website. This is their first original song written by the members of the band. They are starting find their sound and as you can listen from their current track "December" they're well on their way of becoming a band to keep your eye on.

Being that Sweet Suicide is a Female-fronted band also adds that extra unique quality to the ensemble. "December" clearly has dark tone with a heavy rock/metal sound to back it up. And then you add to it the vocals of Cindy Parr now you have an original Baltimore, Maryland sound. If you love bands like Evanescence, Shinedown, A Perfect Circle, Paradise Lost, Stone Sour & Halestorm then you'll definitely like this band a lot!

Sweet Suicide are currently writing new material and hope to be releasing an EP sometime later this year. But in the meantime you can keep up to date with their Facebook page they are constantly playing live show for Baltimore's Metal Scene.

Work in progress . . .

Greetings,

I want to start off by saying that there are a lot of things that I am working on to make this site work. There will be a Myspace page, Blog TV page and this site. I want us to be able to talk about lot of things a share information, like on concert and events as well as new music from new bands you think that we all might like. I am always open to new music.

Also I don't want to leave out films as well as reading material. I think everyone deserve to hear about a cool new movie or an older one that maybe we haven't seen yet. Even a book or two, I just want to make sure that this . . . . forum is open to anything entertainment related. Now if there are photos, audio clips and video clips as well I don't think it will be a problem, I just have to check it first and make sure its suitable for this site, but I don't think its going to be a problem anyway. I would really like to have everyone enjoy this site.

Later in the coming weeks there will be a rough draft of The Invaders Asylum Site guidelines that will be implemented. I don't think it will do much restricting but maybe more respecting others on this site as well as the content they put up. Of course everyone will have credit for what they decide to share no one will be denied that. And of course no one is allowed to take someones photo, audio and video clip as theirs when its not. those caught will be banned from the site.

So hopefully we can all have fun and experience an awesome ride on Invaders Asylum

Laters,

Ava
